This blog exists so that I may post my art without it getting lost in the midst of countless reblogs.

Today marks the 15th anniversary of the English release of Lunar: Silver Star Story! I would have done something much more grand than this had circumstances allowed it since this game has always been a favorite of mine (you can blame my brother), but some unexpected changes in my life all but sapped my motivation to draw for the past two or so weeks. Needless to say, I didn’t have the time that I would have liked to have to do what I wanted for this fine day, but I wanted to draw something for the occasion anyway, and so I did. It’s not what I had originally planned (I may draw that at a later date because it could be fun), but have a redraw of the shot from Luna’s boat song scene that was used on the soundtrack CD packed in with the English version of the game.
I don’t think I’ve had this much fun drawing something since my most recent commission for Will back in October, even if this is just a scene redraw.
If I disappear for the most part for a few days, it’s probably because I’m off replaying this game for the billionth time in a row. No turn-based RPG other than Earthbound has captured my heart quite like this one; it has a lot of charm to it! And even more relentless optimism.
…I never want to draw another ship’s mast again.

Some Flight Rising dragon headshots! Some of my friends dragged me into signing up for the site when it was open for registration earlier in the month, and I’ve been drawing some dragon headshot bust things for fellow members. Did I mention I really love coatls and skydancers?

These quick-ish headshots have actually helped me out a lot in getting my art muse back. Like I said in my thread where I’m doing these, I was experiencing my worst art rut since 2010 before I started taking these on.

I’d have drawn some more today since I have a handful left in my queue, but I felt like I needed a break today and so I took one; plus with finals drawing nearer the last week of class + finals weeks are going to be rough. But I’ll hang in there!

Maybe when I have more time on my hands I’ll start drawing some full-body dragons, and just more art in general. I have one thing with cats in it that’s been sitting in my queue for ages and I’ll probably get around to finishing that as my customary pre-finals stress drawing, because what’s better for curing stress than a drawing with cats in it?

I’ve been having trouble sleeping lately, so I did this in about 30 minutes to try to make myself tired. I’m still not tired, but any excuse to draw Noctowls is a good one.
Full-body version of my new icon over at my main blog! Articuno sure is cool. This is really just a warmup to get myself back into actually drawing things, because gee it sure has been a while.
I originally wanted to draw a series of Christmas presents for all of my friends last month, but circumstances that made my break a royal pain sapped much of my motivation to do more than just this one gift. It may not be Christmas anymore, so posting this may be a little out of place, but this is a gift I did for my old friend Amphy since she really loves Ampharos and its beautiful mega form!
I added a Drifloon to the present box because I’ve associated her with Drifloons for several years now. Did you know she draws the most adorable ‘floons? Well you do now.
Maybe this year I’ll be able to muster up more motivation. The last few months of last year were a bit much for me and art took a backseat to the incredibly hectic schedule I had set up for myself last semester; this semester is looking to be much more reasonable so if you see more art from me more frequently, that’s why! I do already have a little bit of art lined up that I may have done over the weekend.

Oh hey, it’s some exiles fanart! This is track art for an arrangement of Explore that’s going to be on the Land of Fans and Music 3 album (yes, that’s still a thing). It took me way longer to bring myself to do this than normal simply for the fact that Homestuck simply hasn’t inspired me artistically since the summer! That and I had an idea in my head that I was having difficulty translating to art for the longest time.
Will this be my last hurrah for Homestuck? Maybe; maybe not. If it is, then I can rest assured that I’ve done a silly drawing of the three main exiles doing a happy dance together. This may not be as refined or serious as other recent works of mine, but it’s lighthearted and cheery (and a little nonsensical) and it was just plain fun overall.
I wanted to throw in a sentry worm but he didn’t make the cut sadly! At least I got to draw my favorite characters though.
At long last I update my art blog with a commission for returning customer Will, who has been working on a little EP about unicorns! For quite some time now I have been working on something which I have dubbed “pretty unicorn quest,” and this is it.
Personal issues, health issues, and my inner perfectionist all worked together to ensure that I could not finish this piece, but ultimately I worked against all of those to make something I’m rather proud of.
You can buy the EP here!

Quick icon for Jeremy’s reblog blog! I have a couple more icons for a couple more people in the works, but I simply couldn’t resist the idea of drawing a cute Mr. Saturn wearing some sweet headphones. Rock on, Mr. Saturn! Rock on.

I heard Shoona was stressed so I came to the rescue with an emergency motivational shark doodle! If anyone else is stressed and happens to see this, I hope this brightens up your day.

Sometimes I feel the need to draw something quick and simple at 2 in the morning. This is one of those times.
Those aren’t cherry blossoms! That’s a marshmallow tree, from the indie sandbox game called Crea that’s in beta at the moment. I preordered it since I had enough commissions money for not only a new hard drive but also some miscellaneous things, and so far I don’t regret it. The visuals are gorgeous and while the game is fairly barebones at the moment I get the feeling it’s going to evolve into something truly amazing as it goes through the beta stages.
I’ll get back to my owed art very soon but I felt the need to draw a few simple things in between commissions.

Quick in-between-commissions drawing! I’ve been nothing short of addicted to Animal Crossing: New Leaf ever since it came out here in the US, and I wanted to draw my cat, Hubert, as if he were a villager in the game. He’d be a lazy villager with KK Ragtime playing on his stereo in his house. I imagine that he’d start out with an argyle sweater and his starting home would be a mishmash of miscellaneous things - of note he always has at least two beds on him at all times.
The real Hubert has a ton of beds so I imagine an Animal Crossing Hubert would have more than one bed in his home.
I should do more quick Animal Crossing character doodles! They’re fun.

Another commission! This was commissioned by Tumblr user thiefofegbert, who wanted me to draw a birthday present for a friend of hers. I never expected that I’d be drawing Rose and Kanaya from Homestuck wearing punkish clothes but ultimately I did enjoy doing this nonetheless, partly because halfway through doing the rough sketch for it I decided Rose should have a horrorterror jacket.
Speaking of commissions, I’m still open for them! The page on my blog is horribly outdated at this point and I’ve been meaning to update it, but just ask me if you’re interested, or fill out this simple form here!

This is another commission for Will, who recently wanted me to do art for his latest album! If you’re an Ava’s Demon fan and you like good music, I highly recommend it. I had a blast drawing this.
I’m incredibly proud of myself for finishing this drawing, because I’ve been too intimidated to draw fanart for this gorgeous comic ever since it launched over a year ago. Don’t be like me. Don’t be too intimidated to do art for something just because you don’t feel like you’ll do it justice. You’ll never accomplish anything with that mindset. You should just draw; draw and don’t worry about whether or not you’ll do something justice.

A commission for Tumblr user tmityler, who as I understand it is doing a project based around robotic creatures! So I drew a spark bat. I was paid a little extra so as an added bonus I made the original sketch a little bit bigger before coloring it and added a quick headshot.

I imagine that the yellow bits would glow and I would have made a gif of that if it didn’t mean having to open Photoshop, which lags to no end on my computer, to do it. Either way this was a very fun project indeed!

A commission for Mark! He wanted some art to go with a single he’s going to release soon and told me he wanted “just something nice to fill the space” that was kind of dark and smoky, not necessarily defined shapes but something that had a sort of ethereal atmosphere to it.
My motivation got shot for a week or two, but then I decided to draw something somewhat inspired by a volcano for this. Somewhere along the line I had way too much fun drawing the swooshy lines.
I’m still open for commissions, by the way! All money I get from them will go towards these three things first and foremost:
getting a new hard drive
upgrading my license for CLIP Studio Paint from Pro to EX
upgrading my RAM as 4GB isn’t cutting it anymore with how I’m doing higher-resolution works more often
I’m planning on having a summer discount on commissions. Keep an eye out for that if you want to help me upgrade my workspace!
